SUBSCRIBE TO THE LAST STRAW!

The Last Straw is the International Journal of Straw Bale and Natural Building and not to be missed!

It has been created by those involved with strawbale and other sustainable materials and methods of construction, energy production and water systems, for those interested in building naturally, efficiently, economically and sustainably.

It is dedicated to gathering and sharing up to date information based on the knowledge and experience of people who have been and are developing designs and techniques, experimenting with new and old materials, expressing their creativity and passing along innovative ideas in every part of the world.

Everyone is welcome to submit articles for publication and we would especially encourage anyone from Europe to think about sharing your knowledge and experience in this way. The more we can learn from each other the more we will be able to build beautiful, simple, energy efficient buildings that are not harmful to our planet, without all of us having to discover how to do it all on our own!

You can subscribe to this wonderful Journal online - it is cheaper for you the subscriber, and greener too, than receiving one in the post!

Contact them directly to subscribe for 4 issues by emailing them at thelaststraw@thelaststraw.org

or take a look at their website www.thelaststraw.org

If you cannot receive an on-line version it is still possible to receive TLS by post, in which case please contact Joyce Coppinger, Managing Editor, The Last Straw Journal, PO Box 22706, Lincoln, Nebraska 68542-2706 USA. Tel: 00 1 402 483 5135/5161

The online issues will be uploaded to the web site www.thelaststraw.org in pdf format with colour photographs for the cover and inside pages, when available. The 4-issue online subscription rate is $24 USD (about £12).

The online subscription can be read on the computer and issues will be printable using an assigned password. Printing should be limited to one copy per issue per subscriber to honour the TLS copyright. Please understand that the printing of colour photographs may not be of high quality if you do not have a colour printer. The printable online version will not be in bound copy format. The printed pages from these issues can be added easily to three-ring notebooks for storage and future reference. The notebooks may be offered for sale on the web site at some future date.

Postal Subscription

The rate for a 4-issue subscription to The Last Straw journal, which covers the costs of production, printing and bulk rate postage but does not cover expenses required to operate TLS, (they depend on sponsorships for that) is $32.00 USD within the USA, $32.00 USD in Canada and $36.00 USD (about £18) for other countries including the UK and Ireland. To subscribe please contact The Last Straw Journal, PO Box 22706, Lincoln, Nebraska 68542-2706 USA. Tel: 00 1 402 483 5135/5161

TLS will continue to publish a print copy for every future issue! The print copy of TLS will continue to be produced in black and white text and photos, with an occasional glossy cover and/or colour cover photograph to increase distributorships and market the journal through newsstands and other outlets. They plan to change the cover and layout design in 2008.
